Dr. Thiri Naing

Dr Thiri Naing graduated from the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, Myanmar 2006. She has a strong passion for patient care and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. With over a decade of medical experience, Dr Naing has worked across various healthcare settings including emergency, hospitals and primary health services both internationally and in Australia, gaining a broad range of clinical skills.

After relocating to Australia, Dr Naing completed the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program and received her Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) Fellowship. This prestigious recognition reflects her high standard of clinical knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to general practice in Australia. She is dedicated to providing holistic, patient-centred care and strives to build long-term, trusting relationships with her patients. Her compassionate and thorough approach ensures that each patient receives high-quality care for their individual needs.

Dr Naing enjoys the variety that general practice offers, with clinical interests spanning chronic disease management, women’s and children’s health, Aboriginal health, mental health, trauma and emergency medicine, skin cancer detection and management, weight management and geriatric medicine.

Dr. Ko Ko Yazar Win

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr. Ko Ko Yazar Win is a seasoned GP with over a decade of experience serving in Far North Queensland before recently moving to the Gold Coast. He earned his Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2020, highlighting his expertise in primary care.

Dr. Win earned his primary medical degree, M.B., B.S at the University of Medicine, Mandalay, one of Myanmar’s leading medical schools. He furthered his studies in Thailand, obtaining the Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (D.T.M & H) and Master of Clinical Tropical Medicine (M.C.T.M), equipping him with advanced skills in managing complex healthcare challenges in tropical regions.

After migrating to Australia in 2013, he worked as a Senior House Officer at Townsville University Hospital, gaining experience across various medical fields. In 2018, he began GP training with the AGPT program, focusing on delivering comprehensive primary care. He is currently acquiring advanced skill in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer.

Dr. Wai Wai Khin

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Wai Wai Khin is a dedicated and passionate GP, who graduated her primary medical degree (MBBS) in 2009 from the University of Medicine (Mandalay). Dr Khin initially worked overseas in Myanmar as a medical officer, where she honed her skills and knowledge to treat a wide range of medical conditions.

Dr Khin migrated to Australia in 2017, working at Townsville University Hospital and Mackay Base Hospital. It included managing acute (emergency) medical conditions as Emergency Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Medical Oncology, Palliative medicine, Preventative medicine, Child and Adolescent health, Mental health, Surgical cases, and most importantly, complex medical conditions such as heart diseases, diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease, and asthma.

Dr Khin as a GP provides comprehensive care to patient of all ages ranging from management of chronic medical conditions to acute medical illness.

Dr Khin was awarded Fellowship of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioner (FRACGP).

Dr Khin is currently acquiring Professional certificate in Women’s health to enable to provide comprehensive, patient-centred and holistic care to the community.

Dr Khin is delighted to return to the Gold Coast region.

Dr. Aung Thiha

Dr Aung Thiha graduated from University of Medicine 1, Yangon in 2007. He practised in Jamaica before he moved to Australia. He worked in Perth and Darwin before he successfully completed his GP specialty training in New England region.

Dr Thiha is a fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He has achieved Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine and Advanced Certificate of Dermoscopy (Healthcert).

Dr. Phyo Kyaw (Dr. Zor)

Dr Phyo Kyaw, known as Dr Zor, is a highly skilled GP with a special interest in skin cancer detection and management. He is an accredited skin cancer doctor by the Skin Cancer College of Australasia and holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), reflecting his dedication to providing exceptional patient care.

With extensive experience, including his role as a resident medical officer in the Plastic Surgery Team at Royal Darwin Hospital, Dr Zor has been practising skin cancer medicine since 2016. He is a member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia and holds qualifications such as the Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine, Certificate of Dermatoscopy, and the Advanced Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine & Surgery.

Dr Zor is proficient in a wide range of skin cancer procedures, including complex surgeries like skin flaps and grafts on the face, head, neck and lower legs. While his primary focus is curing skin cancers, he also prioritises achieving excellent cosmetic outcomes and minimising scarring.

In addition to skin cancer care, Dr Zor performs minor surgical procedures, such as removing lumps, bumps, cysts, and ingrown toenails. He continues to enjoy the variety of general practice, managing common conditions like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and musculoskeletal issues. He is also experienced in addressing urgent medical needs, such as cuts, lacerations, traumas, and fractures.

Dr. Max Wong

Dr Max Wong graduated from the University of Sydney with Honours in 1985. He worked overseas in Malaysia for 3 years before returning to Australia to work in rural South Australia. He was a Senior Medical Officer at Mareeba Hospital in Far North Queensland from 1994 – 1998, and then Medical Superintendent of Dalby Hospital in western Queensland from 1998-2000. Post graduate qualifications obtained during this time were the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Diploma of Tropical Health and Hygiene (DTMH),Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (MPHTM) and the Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM).
